Short version: we collect what a community needs to introduce you to the right people, and nothing else.
Last updated 1 August 2026
What we collect
When you register we ask for your name, email address, city, your stage (student, professional, educator or career changer), the field you work in or want to, and which of our five objectives brought you here. That is the whole of it.
If you attend events, book a career clinic slot, or contribute in a way that earns recognition, we keep a record of that activity so the recognition board and your own history are accurate.
Why we collect it
- To introduce you to members in your field and your city
- To hold your place at events you register for
- To show your contributions on the recognition board, under your name
- To send you the calendar and occasional community announcements
What we will never do
We do not sell member data. We do not pass your email address to recruiters, sponsors or partner organisations. We run no advertising, so nothing here is being profiled for anyone.
If a partner organisation wants to reach members, they run a session and talk to the people who come. They do not get a list.
What other members can see
Signed-in members can see your name, city, stage, field and public contributions in the directory. Your email address is never shown — introductions go through the community team unless you choose to share it yourself.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are a member. Ask us to delete your account and we remove your profile and contact details; anonymised contribution counts may remain in aggregate figures, because removing them would misstate the community’s history.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of everything we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Leave the directory but stay on the calendar, or the reverse
- Delete your account entirely
Getting in touch
Write to [email protected] or use the contact form. A person reads it, and we aim to answer within a few days.
